KMPDD Electrical’s owner, Khawulani Dube, has been working with electricity and in the electrical contractor industry since 1997. That’s more than 20 years of hard work, commitment to contracting, and a love for the work he does. As he explains: “It’s my gift, and I love this work 100 percent.”
This commitment to the industry shows. In 2016, Khawulani started to install prepaid sub-meters in customer homes and for larger projects and in 2019, he was contacted by the Citiq Installation Club (CIC) and asked if he would like to become a member.
“They contacted me, and they asked me if I would be interested in joining the Citiq Prepaid loyalty platform,” says Khawulani. “Of course, I agreed. The Citiq Prepaid sub-meters are easier to install and so much quicker to set up than any of the other prepaid sub-meters on the market, and I get rewards for using them!”
That Khawulani loves his job and meeting new people is clear. His company does more than prepaid sub-meter installations, he also does wiring and electrical contracting and provides support for larger projects at scale. His business is thriving thanks to his passion for his work, and his commitment to customer service.
“I get jobs that have been referred to me by other people,” he says. “This is because my existing customers are happy with the work I do, and they recommend me to other people. When people refer me, I always go the extra mile – it’s really important to do the right job to get more customers.”
Khawulani makes his own success but he pays this forward…
“I realised fairly early on that I wasn’t being paid my worth when I was working for other companies,” he says. “So, I decided to start my own. Then I hired my own teams and my own contractors and now I’m focused on getting the jobs and sourcing the projects for my team. Now, I use my gift to teach other people so they can also enter into this world, and also start their own companies.”
It’s an incredible approach, and it’s one that’s paying off for Khawulani as he stands out as one of the CIC’s top installers and someone who can be trusted to make sure that a Citiq Prepaid sub-meter installation is one that’s done properly.
